NIRF rankings list the top educational institutions in the country on an overall basis and also by specific disciplines like engineering, medicine, law and management. Though no selection parameter has given to biological Sciences studies but we have tried here to compile information suitable for biological Sciences people. National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) released a list of Top Institutions in the country. NIRF was approved by the MHRD and launched by Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development on 29th September 2015.
 NIRF framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. The parameters broadly cover “Teaching, Learning and Resources,” “Research and Professional Practices,” “Graduation Outcomes,” “Outreach and Inclusivity,” and “Perception”.
These rankings list the top educational institutions in the country on an overall basis and also by specific disciplines like engineering, medicine, law and management. Though no selection parameter has given to biological Sciences studies but we have tried here to compile information suitable for biological Sciences people. From this list, you will notice that IISc is still at no.1 continuously from 3 years; the first university appears in ranking is Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) then Banaras Hindu University then Anna University and then University of Hyderabad but most of the top positions are occupied by IITs, Indian Institute of Technology Madras being top among all IITs. The first private or deemed University appears in list is Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham then Manipal Academy of Higher Education then Vellore Institute of Technology then Birla Institute of Technology & Science and then Bharath Institute of Higher Education & Research among many other private universities.
